Computer Posture Key Terms: Part 5

Computer ergonomics can get complex. 😵‍💫

Welcome to Part 5 of my Computer Posture Key Terms series. I wrote the article, but this image is AI-generated.

This article will talk about terms that helped me understand computer ergonomics better.

Computer Posture Key Terms: Part 5

Postural Fatigue

This is what happens when our support muscles get tired, often leading to slouching and compensation patterns.

Working at a computer for long periods of time is an uneven endurance event. Some of my muscles are deactivated and not used at all. While other muscles can be constantly overused.

Proprioception

This is our internal sense of body position and movement.

Ergonomics is all about efficiency. Having a high level of proprioception allows me to move quickly with decreased pain and higher work productivity.
