If you want to learn the steps on how I improve my computer posture without buying a new desk or chair, then follow these steps!
Here’s how I improve my computer posture without buying a new desk or chair.
Step 1: Adjust my chair height until my elbow level is a couple inches higher than desk level. This decreased my shoulder pain.

Step 2: Adjust my monitor height until the top of the screen is at my eye level. This decreased my neck pain and headaches.
Step 3: I always keep my feet flat on the floor. This decreased my leg muscle tension and joint dysfunction.
Side note: If adjusting my elbow level in Step 1 caused my feet to lift off the floor, then I buy a footrest to keep my feet flat on. But I’m 6’3” tall, so that usually isn’t the case.
It takes about 10 seconds for me to do these 3 steps. But it took 10 years of poor posture before I learned how to do them.
If you struggle with computer-related pain, don’t feel bad for not knowing what to do.
But definitely stop and take 10 seconds right now, to make these 3 ergonomic adjustments. I wish I did this earlier in my office career.
They are the 3 most important habit changes I’ve made to improve my computer posture.
