High-Performance Habits for Computer Users

How you can tell you’re using good computer posture while sitting at your desk:

I make as many small, 1% improvements to my computer ergonomics process as possible. When practiced consistently, these good posture habits lead to massive results over time. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. SittingPosture.com

→ Your elbow level is slightly above desk level.

(holding my elbow below desk level caused biceps overuse, which led to pain in the tendons that connect my biceps to my shoulders)

→ Your eye level is even with the top of your monitor screen.

(looking downward at my low monitor screen used to cause chronic neck pain and muscle tension for me)

→ Your feet are flat on the floor, or a footrest if necessary.

(sitting with my feet pulled back, toes on the ground, and heels in the air…caused hamstring overuse, which led to joint dysfunction in my ankles and knees)

If you’re struggling with sitting posture, at least get these variables right.

I follow many more posture cues, but these 3 are non-negotiable for me.

Notice how both users are practicing these ergonomic rules, regardless if they’re in sitting or standing posture. Their elbow level is slightly above desk level.
